French e-commerce data have been published for 2009

Fevad

On Tuesday, FEVAD (Distance selling and e-commerce federation) released its official statement about e-commerce in France last year.

A positive result emerges, particularly about the generated online revenue (+26% compared to 2008, bringing the figure to €25 billion), and +35% in one year of the number of e-commerce websites created (bringing the number of active websites to 64.000.)

"About 17.000 new merchants active websites were created in 2009 (vs. 11.800 in 2008). Almost two e-commerce websites are created every hour in France.”

Today, more than 24 million French buy on the web, i.e. 2 million more than in 2008.

"Between 2000 and 2009 the e-commerce has seen its sales multiplied by 35. It is expected in 2010 by FEVAD to exceed 30 billion."

We would be pleased to communicate about e-commerce in your country.
